The Community of Handsworth, Sheffield

Our Mission

We are a not-for-profit organisation that uses our commercial facilities to raise funds to restore the building and to keep it open as a venue for the local community to hold groups and events, many of which we are able to subsidise or run on cost basis.

Throughout the week there are all ages and all sorts of interest groups using the centre. If you would like more information or contact details just ring the office Monday to Friday between 11am and 2pm and ask for Tim on 0114 269 2537.

Charity Status

We are pleased to confirm that in 2010 we received our charity status - registered charity 1139416. This will help us raise more funds beyond our commercial activities to help restore this building and develop new facilities for Handsworth folk also.

Our annual report and accounts are available on the Charity Commission website.

Jubilee Gardens

A growing cooperative based in the old kitchen gardens behind the rectory. We have a fantastic 20ft poly tunnel, wild life garden, fruit trees and shared allotment space where we can host, schools, youth groups, charities etc. keen to get involved in growing.

We have picket fenced pitches available on two year lets from £30 per year, perfect for anyone wanting their own private growing space without the full hassle of a large allotment. Call or email Tim on 0114 2692537 or tim@orh.org.uk to get involved or to enquire about your own growing space.
